How To Know Heaven Is Your Home Heaven is a free gift from God "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23 Heaven is not earned or deserved "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves,it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8,9 Weve disqualified ourselves from receiving heaven because we have sinned. Sin is disobeying the words of God. People are sinners "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23People cannot save themselves by being good "Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Matthew 5:48No human is perfect. God is merciful and doesnt want to punish us for our sins "God is love" I John 4:8 God is also just and must punish our sins "God does not leave the guilty unpunished" Exodus 34:7Weve got a problem! Who can help us? Jesus solves our problem of wanting to go to heaven but not qualifying because of our sins. Jesus is God "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh (Jesus born at Christmas) and made his dwelling among us." John 1:1,14 Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place in heaven for us. "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, and theLord laid on him (Jesus) the sin of us all." Isaiah 53:6 How do we receive the gift of eternal life? By placing our faith in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation! This faith is not: Just knowing there is a God Just running to God when you are in a pinch This faith is: Trusting in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved!" Acts 16:31You can be saved from the penalty of your sins today! You can know that heaven is your home today! If you would like to ask Jesus to forgive your sins and grant you the gift of eternal life (heaven) you can simply ask Him to do that. You could use the following prayer or put these thoughts in your own words. "Dear Jesus, I am a sinner! I am sorry for my sins! Please forgive me for my sins! I ask to receive the gift of eternal life? I thank you for that gift And now I dedicate the rest of my life to you!" Amen. If you have just prayed this prayer, here is a promise of God for you. Go ahead, put your name in the blanks: "For God so loved _____ that He gave His only begotten Son, that if ______ believes in Him ________ will not perish but _________ will have everlasting life."
